DP-NaNo Write-in?

I know it's early, but I'd like to schedule a DP write-in next week. Anyone? I will most likely be freaking out about word count and need some serious hand-holding, and I imagine there are a few others who will too. I prefer close-in east side, and if I get to decide, I'll probably choose something in NE. Here are my thoughts:
Wednesday and/or Friday evening, Nov 17 and 19, around 6 PM.
My ideas for places are Manhattan Cafe on 2735 NE Broadway, or the NE Broadway McMenamin's.
Do either of these sound good to people? I welcome your ideas!

PS--did anyone go to the Waypost write-in last night? I was going to go but punked out because I was too exhausted to put on pants.

Edit: I went to Manhattan Cafe last night and it was a great place for writing. Quiet, unassuming, and the staff were pleasant but left me alone to do my thing. I will be there next Wednesday, November 17, from 5:30 on. See above for address.

I'm also going to try to go to the "official" SE Grind write-in this Friday evening. We'll see if that happens.

Getting your own health insurance

If anyone gets their own health insurance (and I'm not just talking catastrophic stuff - I mean real health insurance with prescriptions and all that stuff), I'd love to hear what people think is a good company and plan to go with. If you're willing to divulge how much your plan costs along with what it offers, that would be awesome. Thanks!

NW Natural gas heat

Lets say you have a house, about 2,000 sq feet, and you heat it with natural gas. (NW Natural, in Multnomah Co.)

How much is your average gas bill?
Do you think you are stingy with the heat? or do you heat your house comfortably all the time?

Government Camp to Meadows or Timberline

I am planning my first snowboarding trip up to Mt. Hood and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about transportation options, particularly to and from Government Camp. I am worried about driving and parking all the way up to the ski resorts, but Government Camp might be ok. (Is this silly to think I could drive and park there, but not at the resorts?)

Is there a bus that runs from Meadows/Timberline and back to Portland at night? I read about the greasebus, but I don't think it runs at night (night lift tickets are much cheaper).

If we stay the night in Government Camp, is there public transportation between the resorts and G. camp?

I have scoured Timberline/Meadows websites, and google, for information but have only found various daytime shuttles to and from Portland/Gresham.
