Yes, kids, it's time for the latest Lake Oswego police blotter...

6/7/10 9:36 a.m. The words “Ha Ha” were spraypainted on the side of a bank. It cost $500 to repair the damage.

6/7/10 4:31 p.m. Two drunks walking down 5th Street managed to stay upright by holding each other up.

6/8/10 12:46 p.m. A Dodge with a trailer was taking up four parking spaces at Wizer’s Foods.

6/8/10 2:54 p.m. A father who has been repeatedly texting and calling his 3-year-old daughter has been told to knock it off.

6/11/10 9:28 a.m. An elderly man is walking in circles every day at the same location.

6/11/10 3:05 p.m. A solicitor was not making sense, probably due to being under the influence of drugs.

6/12/10 3:02 p.m. Yelling, swearing and slamming was heard at a residence. But the wife was home alone and the husband was at a barbecue.

6/12/10 6:07 p.m. A chair made from cardboard in a dumpster was used by a man while waiting for his friend to get off work at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

damn yuppies

Stirring up some shit here...

What makes someone a yuppie these days, and why is it so awful? The way it seems to get used around here is something like "someone who makes more money than you and therefor must be despised."

I went back a few pages and didn't see anything, so please forgive me if this was recently covered (and then point me in the direction of the post.)

Has anyone had any success with strawberry picking this season? I know that the lack of sun may mean they're either not doing so well, or haven't ripened yet.

Has anyone gone out to Sauvie, or out in Hillsboro recently? U-pick, of course.

Also, looking for your recommendations on u-pick farms. I've done Pumpkin Patch and a farm across the street from Roloff Farms. I found Pumpkin Patch to be much more expensive.

I usually weed through the farms on http://www.pickyourown.org/ but haven't had the time this season.

Also, if you have any awesome recipes using strawberries, I'd love to see 'em!

Thanks, all!

So, my totally awesome nerdy almost-19-year-old sister has stated that "an ocarina like Link's in Ocarina of Time would be totally awesome."
Her birthday is this Sunday! So I don't have much time to find one, nor do I have time to wait for one to ship.

I know there used to be a vendor at the Portland Saturday Market who sold handmade ocarinas, among other things, and I'm pretty sure she even used to have a replica Ocarina of Time. But! the last time I saw this lady AT Saturday Market, was like, 3-4 years ago.
Anyone know if that vendor is still around? I'd search for her but I am completely drawing a blank on her name/business name. All I remember is that she used to set up shop in the part of Saturday Market that was under the covered area near the Skidmore Fountain Building.

Anyone know of anywhere else locally one could pick up a blue 7-hole Zelda-themed ocarina? If all else fails, I've found a few places online that I'm willing to buy this from, but none of those will get to me in time for my sister's birthday. Have car, will travel. Budget is around $40-$50.

yes i know another one of "those" posts

So my husband just landed a job over in Hillsboro...but we live in Milwaukie and really need to move closer to his work. I have been scouring craig's and some other sites, but pickings are slim...esp. for what we need. Anyone who lives in Beaverton, Hillsboro, SW, NW seen any rental signs around..we're looking particularly for a house as we have two dogs. I would be happy to go drive around and look, but I honestly do not know that area well at all and would have no idea where to even drive around to look! I post here mainly because I am getting frustrated and we would really like to move by mid july before my mommy comes to visit. any help would be grand! thanks always DP!
