HEALTHY brunch??

Can anyone suggest a place for a great weekday brunch that would be relatively fresh and healthy-ish compared to the typically delicious yet calorie-packed brunch I would get at Screen Door, Cadillac Cafe and the like?

Usually I'm all over that, but I want to choose a lighter place this time without compromising too much on taste.

I'm going with some friends so hopefully it can be somewhat of a decent environment as well. Anyone?

Thanks in advance!

Kevin Smith for Sale

I'm trying to sell one ticket to Kevin Smith at the Crystal Ballroom on 4/12.  The show is close to selling out and I'm offering it for less than what you would pay for it if you went through Ticketmaster.  I have a listing for it on Craigslist as well as on eBay.  If you're interested, contact me soon.

Monster Cable: worth it?

I should probably know better than to ask today, of all days, but I need to know.

Hooking up the AV components in the man cave of my new house, and I need more speaker wire. What's the conventional wisdom on Monster Cable vs. other stuff? The former is almost always about 2-3 times the price of similar gauge wire made by other companies. Is it worth it?

If it matters, I'll need to run speaker wire in various lengths ranging from about 10' to 60'. (Not that the room's that big, but the signal route for the surround right speaker is gonna be a bit circuitous.)

If you're going to ask the resistance of the speakers, I don't know. 8-10, I think.

Thanks!

Late-night hangouts?

Hey dudes and dudettes. As usual, I have a question that warrants your expert advice:

I'm dipping my toe back into dating, but I've had a boyfriend for the whole time I've lived in Portland, up until a couple months ago. This means I have never actually gone on a for-reals date in this town. We are going to go see a band play, first, but I'm thinking it'd be nice to go somewhere after the show to grab some drinks and actually talk for a while.

Do you know a place that:
A) is open late on weekends?
B) has a nice atmosphere, while still being quiet enough that two people can have a conversation without yelling? (most important!)
C) is somewhere in/near downtown PDX? (not a firm requirement, as I do have a car, but close-in would be preferable)

THANK YOU SO MUCH. You have no idea how much it'll calm my nerves to at least have an idea of where to go!

smelly riding gloves

A friend has taken up motorcycling. He's bought all the safety gear he needs. The problem is the gloves. These are heavy duty gloves with some sort of metal lining across the knuckles and are made for riding safety. Every times he comes home, his hands smell like vinegar and dirty socks.

He's never had this issue in any type of glove before including heavy duty labor gloves, winter gloves or garden gloves.

Any ideas about this and what to do about it?

Thanks in advance!
