Arrested Development question

Edit: Never mind. I should have Googled better. It's Ethel Merman doing "Rose's Turn" from Gypsy. But bring the quotes, anyway.

I'm sure this will bring a slew of everyone's favorite quotes, but I love that, anyway. However, I have an Arrested Development-themed question:

Does anybody know the song that Buster is singing in the last (or second-to-last) episode of Season 2? (Lucille also sings it in Season 1) It's the one where Lucille is gone and Buster drinks her box wine, thinking it's a giant juice box. He gets loaded and is singing along to a song that sounds like Ethel Merman ("Mama's got a____, Mama's blah blah blah" I don't know what the hell the words are. Sorry). I did an Itunes search of Ethel Merman songs with "mama" in the title, but didn't find it.

Therefore, I turn to you, O great DPers, fans of AD, and/or Showtunes: What is this song?

And:
"I don't want no part of your tight-ass country club, ya freak bitch!"

wink

"House shoes"

Any recommendations on where to get a good, yet affordable pair of men's slippers? The SO would like them to have sturdy soles since he occasionally prefers to wear them out and about as opposed to normal shoes. Style is less important.

*Edit: Ended up getting a pair at Freddie's that were perfect. And to top it off, they were buy one get one free so I got a pair for myself too!

Buy my stuff!

Posted to CL, but thought I'd run it by DP as well. Landlord lost her job and has to sell the house I'm in, so it's time to lighten the load... CL ad is here. Two bookcases, a large executive desk, a computer chair, a TV, and a Wii plus games.

I also have a box full of miscellaneous tools, duplicates of stuff I already have, mainly. A couple of ratchets, a motley assortment of sockets, two oil filter wrenches, a couple of hacksaws, a speed handle, a tire iron, and the like. Free to whoever wants it provided you take *all* of it. (Fits in one large box.)

Edit:
Actually, given the speed with which this has worked, another one: As a consequence of the aforementioned rental scenario, I need a place for me and my dog to stay for the next six months or so. If anyone has a room they're looking to rent out or knows of an opening in a dog-friendly, non-sketchy apartment complex in town, please ping me here...

(no subject)

Hi all,
I'm supposed to meet a friend at a dance studio after an event being held this afternoon. She told me the name and I was going to google it, but I neglected to write the name down and now what I remember (i think it has the word light and/or the word body in it?) isn't enough. It's in close-in SE, she said it was pretty close to that crazy Sandy/Burnside intersection, and that it was on the second floor of a building that also has mental health counseling offices. She also said it was near some school with tennis courts - I'm guesing Benson Polytechnic/Buckman fields, based on my googline? I know she participates in ecstatic dance (though I'm not exactly sure what that is). It is not a strip club. Anybody have an idea what the name of this studio might be?
Thanks!
(Next time, yes, I will try to write the name down, apparently my short term memory is a little lacking...)

ETA: so, I had both the words wrong, it was Opening to Life studio, on NE 12th between Flanders and Glisan, right across the street from the Buckman tennis courts, and it was not an ecstatic dance class (though my friend does do that, whatever it is) but an authentic movement class (again, whatever that is).
Thanks for all the help!

Damn Rideshare redux

Greetings fellow damned ones,

My boyfriend and I are am looking to procure a ride up north to Mt Vernon WA (about 90 miles south of Vancouver BC) on the 18th after, the 19th of this month. Ride back we're I'm less concerned about.

Is anyone headed up that way on that day, have extra seats, and want some extra gas money?

Skateboarding IS a crime?

I saw a sign at PSU today, imprinted in the bricks, in that square with the Pizzacato and the streetcar station, that basically said "No skareboarding. Violators will be prosecuted."

I didn't even know they made skateboarding a crime in Portland! Have they, or is this just scare tactics?
