ROOM FOR RENT!

So, one of the rooms in our house is becoming vacant somewhere around the 18th of this month, and because we need someone in that room to help with rent and keep us in said house, I'm getting on my hands and knees and begging you to help me the hell out here, oh wise DP'ers.

sweet men's retail?

I have a male friend who wants me to take him shopping. (As in, he'll pay for everything, he just wants me to help him pick stuff out). He's pretty hip and money's not really an object, but he doesn't need to pay a ton of money just because he can. Lots of monochrome, not very many busy patterns, designer jeans, nice shirts and jewelry are good ideas.

I'm thinking that Local35 is probably a good choice, and also maybe Upper Playground (though their stuff might be a little too street). Any other suggestions, especially on districts (i.e., any particular stretch of Mississippi or something)? Would Winn Perry fit the bill? I know nothing about shopping for men's clothes.

Help Youth & Families in the Area!

Harry's Mother is a youth and family social service agency that has been around since 1976. Unfortunately, as generations change we are finding fewer and fewer people aware of the free services Harry's Mother provides:

*24-Hour Youth and Family Crisis Line
*Shelter for youth ages 9 - 17
*Family counseling

We need your help getting the word out about these free services.  Please check out and distribute (email or print) this poster (PDF) far and wide.  Any help you could offer would have a very profound impact on the well-being of youth and families in the area.  Below the cut.

Another one of these posts...

I'm on the hunt for a unique, possibly vintage, inexpensive wedding band for myself. Where should I look? I already have Gilt on my list, but other than that I'm coming up blank. My fiance and I came to the conclusion that having my wedding ring made (even though I have the stones) was just too far out of our price range right now.

Thanks in advance.

HILLSBORO, Ore. – A pregnant 21-year-old newcomer to Oregon who was found dead in a crawl space of a home had been cut open and her baby taken from her womb, investigators said Monday. It couldn't be determined if the infant son of Heather Snively died before or after he was removed, the Washington County sheriff's department said in a statement.

The 'burbs killin' the 'burbs... I'm staying in Portland, ish scary on them border parts.

Is this even legal or just bad luck?

So I'm unemployed....well twice now in the past month. The first time happen when I walked in to pick up my paycheck and the manager sat me down and told me that I had in total 5 write-ups in one day. Half of which weren't even true, but was still forced to sign. Two other of my co-workers from that same place were canned as well with the same deal. Before this date, none of the three of us had even gotten a write-up, been late, stolen anything, etc. Then today, after starting at a new job, I got a call after my final from my manager at the new job saying that my training had been cut short a week because I "wasn't qualified enough" and got replaced by someone she interviewed today. Every time I would work there, I was told I had no issues so I don't know what the deal is and kind of at a dead end rut. I'm in my last year of a 4-year degree in environmental studies and geography and don't want that cut short.

So I turn to the advice of the intelligence and combined forces of DP since my own stategies aren't working.

I want Chinese food, DP. I don't own a car and don't want to take an hour-long trip just to get some nummies, esp. as I don't have a microwave and can't reheat it! So... my question is:

Are there any Chinese places that will deliver in Beaverton near the Transit Center?

I already know about DDish but haven't used them before.

Nevermind! I found one!

Where's the best place in PDX to get stripper shoes? I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive, but don't know where to look.
