Places to buy?
Oh, and the vegetable platter was good, in case any vegetarians are interested. I don't know if it's vegan, though. They don't have a liquor license.
Burquitu is at 3939 NE MLK, next to Barberama/Javarama.
i am looking for furniture for my new house. i've looked at ikea and craigslist, crate and barrel... but i'm wondering about the lesser known furniture places.
i'm looking for new, or in really good condition, modern furniture, which means goodwill and vintage stores are not probably going to be my best sources for possibilities. i know that place wickes is going out of business and is an option, but what are some of the other places i should look? i don't want to spend a fortune, but i am prepared to shell out some bucks for some nice stuff.
i'm also looking at Pacific Lifestyle Furniture (http://www.pacificlifestylefurniture.com/)... does anyone have any experience with this place?
and, incidentally, if any of you happen to be selling a chocolate brown couch and loveseat from a non-smoking home, i'm interested in hearing all about it.
thanks in advance!
What kinds of things should you hate for moral/ethical/political/etc. reasons, but find yourself coming back to time and time again?
I thought I remembered there being a google type that you entered to and from and it would tell you the best route, am i wrong?
ME: Film/Photography Major, kind of sk8/punk ish, tattooed, gauged ears, gay, I like to drink and dance, not afraid of drugs or "urban" areas, Have mostly lived in the artsy/alter-native areas. I have lived in Milwaukee, Phoenix, Chicago, Orlando, and Seattle. I am totally open to new experiences.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Basically I like to have fun and I don't care what people think. I am laidback and live for myself and my friends.
PS. if this doesn't fit into the standards of your comunity I am sorry, but it was the only recently updated community on LJ besides Portland Republicans.
Edit: This was first posted in pdx_artists until a member suggested that I post here.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!
But I don't really see myself voting for either Sam Adams or Sho Dozono. But I don't want to make a totally frivolous vote, either.
So of the 11 candidates that aren't Sho or Sam, which one is running a "serious" campaign? As opposed to just trying to get their name in the voter's pamphlet?
If you can answer yes to both of these questions, I want to take your picture!
My name is Victor. I'm a photographer working on a portrait series about people who work. You could have any job, from garbage man to corporate middleman, burger flipper to vegan gourmet, artist to artisan, grocery cart caddy to Radio cabbie. Whatever it is you do for a living, it's interesting to me, seeing as I'm lacking in such employment myself.
If you're interested, send me an e-mail telling me what you do and where you do it, and some way I might contact you. If you'd like to see more of my work, please visit www.victorfitzsimons.net. Photo shoots cost absolutely nothing except a few minutes of your time.
Thanks a lot!

I have a couple questions about scrubbing in PDX: Which are the better hospitals/surgery centers to work for? Starting wages at said places? Likihood of finding a job?
I'm just starting a surgical tech program out of state but I'd like to move to PDX in a year or two to be closer to my family.

I'm looking for any info on horseback riding lessons I can scrounge up. I haven't ridden with any frequency in about 10 years so we'll call me a beginner. I prefer western to english so if any of you have leads on great instructors in that arena, I'd be much obliged to hear about them. I'd prefer to not drive toooo far to get to lessons, but I'm still flexible. Just, you know, not in Bend or anything.
What do you feel that you SHOULD like, and yet you can't make yourself like it ?
Joni Mitchell. Yeah, I know. Artistic genius pioneering feminist musician superior politics transcended the boundaries of jazz and rock blah blah blah. But her work just leaves me cold. I've seen her paintings and frankly find her painting more enjoyable than her music.
the website is being less than helpful.
do i need any special identification?
and more importantly. does oregon recognize the ULC as a valid form of ordainment?
Does anyone know where I can buy some Vegemite here in Portland?

It doesn't need to be really old, but maybe like fifteen years? I just don't like the direction Tiffany has gone with their jewelry style-wise, but it is tradition in my family to give a new child Tiffany silver as a gift.
anyhoo. i need a ride down there. if anyone knows of any leads, i'd be really grateful. i have no money to offer - just food and conversation. a tuesday morning departure would be ideal. <3
NEVERMIND. found a ride. thanks!
You'll have to pick it up, I live near Col. Summer's Park on SE Belmont.
