I had a dream last night...

I had a damnportlanders dream last night.
I was having a psychotic break, so I was trying to see littlebluedog, who in my dream was a psychiatrist instead of a lawyer. I was driving around Salem, late at night, trying to find him, but I was trying to look for him AFTER his practice closed, so I could ask him questions just as a friend, and not get charged.

Sundays are Slow.

Informal poll time!

Hey, DP, are you from around here? Are you not from around here?

Name your high school, mascot and colours, and city and state, if it applies! (Graduation year is optional!)

Me, I went to Glencoe High school, our mascot was (no shit) the CRIMSON TIDE, and our colours were ugly rust-crimson-red and black.

Whaddabout you?

There's room for one or two more people for a night session up at Mt Hood Meadows tonight. Tickets are $19 as I think it's safeway Sundays or whatever, and gas should only run $5-7 a person depending on how many people we get.

Also, if you swing over to my house early I can wax and tune your board for you.

Hit me up asap!

Poll shows 10-point lead for Obama in NH

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (CNN) — Two days before New Hampshire's Democratic primary, Sen. Barack Obama has opened a double-digit lead over Sen. Hillary Clinton in that state, a new CNN-WMUR poll found Sunday.

Obama, the first-term senator from Illinois who won last week's Iowa caucuses, led the New York senator and former first lady 39 percent to 29 percent in a poll conducted Saturday and Sunday -- a sharp change from a poll out Saturday that showed the Democratic front-runners tied at 33 percent.

Ooh, there's more:
NASHUA, N.H. — Amid frenetic last-minute campaigning, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds the onetime front-runners in New Hampshire lagging as Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain have surged to leads before Tuesday's primary.

Obama vaulted to a 13 percentage-point advantage over New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton three weeks after they were tied here. McCain gained a four-point edge over Mitt Romney, a former governor of neighboring Massachusetts who has campaigned almost as a favorite son.

Mexican Markets

Okay, you Damn Portlanders I really need your help!

I have used "The Google" to look up the locations of Mexican markets but what I am wondering is what is YOUR favorite Mexican market and why.

Do you know of any that sell freshly made tortillas or tamales. Do they have a large selection of dried chilies so I can make a Pueblo-styled turkey mole? I love shopping at Mexican markets so I have all my fingers and toes crossed that there is a pretty decent one somewhere in this town.

Gracias mi amigos!

Why yes, that rule is still there.

Apparently it's time for my ~quarterly declaration that yes, the no-disabling-comments rule still stands, and for every single member of this community. And once again, I'll explain why:

A community's purpose is to facilitate communication. If you disable commenting, you're stifling the communication of nearly everyone in this community-- and, fyi, 4427 members' ability to communicate matters more than a single person's desire not to get snarked, at least in my book. If you're too scared that people might say mean things about you on the Internet, you probably ought not to post on DP. In fact, you might not want to read DP either. Actually, you might want to just shut down your Internet connection altogether.

If you don't want to deal with the comments that your post may inspire, there is an option to simply not receive e-mail notification of comments to your post. It's right in the options on update.bml, to the right of "mood" and above "comment screening." The little dropdown next to "Allow Comments?" Yeah, it's the "Don't Email" option.

So if you want to dish it out but can't take it, that's a way to do it that I've got no problem with. But again, disabling comments is not an option. Not no way, not no how, not for anyone.

Posts with disabled comments WILL be deleted. In the event that someone becomes a repeat offender, they WILL be banned. Oh, and deleting comments you don't like is also still not allowed.

The end! Back to your regularly scheduled requests for vegan dentists who work for free at 9:30pm on a Sunday and will make a house call (via bicycle, of course). ♥

Fun with knives!

So, if one were to be in the market for a switchblade and/or butterfly knife, where would be a good place to look? I think they have them at Andy & Bax. Anywhere else I should check out?

PS, they are indeed legal in Oregon.
