Sometimes, my car won't come out of park.

It's a 2000 VW Jetta. Google says that it's has something to do with the brake switch.

Does anyone know how much this would cost to get fixed? On the 2002 Jetta's, they fixed it for free, part of one of those 'recall' deals.

Also, have any of you had any problems with your Jettas before? Since I've got mine, I've heard lots of bad things. But apparently people don't tell you about problems until after you get a problem maker. :[
shut up brain

Due to circumstances, we really need to find a new home for Jazmine, our 5 month old American Bulldog. She is sweet and playful and just plain adorable. She craves attention and loves kids (but is a little too hyper for most kids under 10 years old to handle at this point). She'd do best in a home with someone who could work with her a lot and give her attention. We have a large bag of dog food and a large crate that will come with her. She is due for another round of shots, we have taken her for her first couple. We just want her to have a good, loving home. She's a really great dog, and I'm heartbroken to be giving her up.

The picture in my icon is her when she was about 8 weeks old.

If you or anyone you know might be interested, leave a comment with your email address and I'll contact you.

sick note for work

I have to get a doctor's note because I've missed three days of work now. Problem is I have no insurance, no money and I have the FLU which everyone knows the doctor can do nothing about.

First of all, where can I see a doctor on the weekend? and is there anywhere that is relatively cheap and WILL give me a note? I feel like I have to pay $100 for a note, which I think is wrong. Any way around getting a full check up for a note?

Another Recall!

The US Postal Service has issued a recall of a stamp they created
with a picture of President George Bush to honor his achievements
while serving as the President of our nation.

The problem was discovered when claims had been made that the
stamp was not sticking to envelopes, and that mail which had been
sent using the "Bush" postage was not being delivered. President
Bush demanded a full investigation into the allegations.

A special Postal Service Investigation team was formed and after
several months and many dollars spent, made the following findings:

*The stamp was manufactured properly.

*There was nothing wrong with the adhesive.

*People were just spitting on the wrong side

Don't Forget, DPerssss

Come see tmcm & I at the Comics Fest tomorrow at the Lloyd Center Doubletree! It's $5 for admission & let's face it, it's Sunday. You don't have anything fun to do anyways so, you might as well.

Support your local artists, buy some awesome stuff that will further clutter your insufficient living space (but people will comment on the awesome stuff which in turn will boost your self-esteem), & get smooched by yours truly for $1*! Let me tell you, that is quite a deal seeing as how it usually runs you the cost of a nice dinner & 6 beers or a few shots of whiskey...

/shameless sluttery of various forms

*Maybe it will be free if I think you're cute.

property owners?

so these asshats in my neighborhood keep having day long parties, complete with blaring music, screaming people, fireworks, people on the sidewalks with open containers, etc. Naturally, they always conveniently cut the noise at 10 p.m. so we can't call the police(after partying since 1 p.m.) Does anyone know if there's a way I can look up or find who their landlord is so I can complain directly to them? Thank you!

oh wise portlanders, i bestow upon you this question:

is there a site/resource where i can find out where certain parts of something were made; e.g. the chip in a disposable camera, or the flash, or the casing?

no, i'm not crazy... i need to find this out for a project for one of my classes at psu and i can't find anything on google.
