How many people have you met in person off DP or LJ?

Before I was introduced to DP back in February I had set a goal to meet one random person off the internet a week. More specifically Craigslist.

It started well, until about April when classes brutally impeded. It wasn't a New Year's resolution, but it was an adventure that I thought would be fun to embark up on. And it has been!

I would still love to fulfill my 52 person "quota" but more enthusiastically, I'd *love* to meet new dynamic people and hear about the "little" things that make them/you happy. And, more over, would love to cultivate new friendships, since I've already met some really fabulous individuals here on DP! *thank you all* =)

How many people have you meet in real life, through DP or LJ (or internet) w/o already knowing them?

Fun stories??

SO, please, introduce your selves I'd love to meet some fun, interesting dynamic DPers in real life!!! Have any spontaneous, fun suggestions? I love new things, and *obviously* meeting new people!

Wishes of a fast Monday for all!

PC Computer Repair

Hey, I'm from out of town, but visiting my dad who lives here. One of their older PC computers crashed and I am trying to help them find a good place to get it fixed. Instead of bringing it to Best Buy, where the cost of fixing isn't worth the computer, I want to find an independent shop that fixes PCs for a reasonable price. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Group Events

DP's I need a bit of assistance... What is a good place to do group events for corporate functions... I'm planning an offsite even for all of the management staff here at my work. We want to do something fun. However my peers are being less than forthcoming with the suggestions.

I saw stuff online for the Portland Sprit and that looks cool. What have you all done that is fun....

And..... GO!!!!

Hi all --

Sorry if this has been asked in the past, but I searched the tags and some back entries and didn't find the answer to my question.

I'm visiting Portland at the end of August and hope to sneak in a day trip to Eugene to visit a friend. I've been Google searching like mad, but can't seem to find any cheap bus options -- I thought there would be serious competition due to the college crowd. Anyway, I've already checked Amtrak and Greyhound -- any other suggestions? Or should I just admit I need a rental car?

Also, while I'm here, I'll be heading up to Seattle during the latter part of my trip -- I'm guessing Amtrak is the best way to do that?

Thanks so much for your help.

What is the best bar hopefully downtown or close in SE to go to where I can cry me eyes out and drink myself into a coma? Does a break up bar exist?

EDIT: After hearing about all the great bars that I could go to I went to buy a bottle of vodka and decided to drink myself into a coma in my backyard and watch the Reno 911 movie. Thank you for all your nice comments.

Just curious....
I'm not too happy with my Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage (or at least the steadily rising premiums).
Is there anyone out there that pays for their own health insurance and is head-over heels about their insurance company?

Pink Ipod nano for sale

Any Portlanders interested in buying a pink 4gb 2nd generation ipod nano? I'm selling it for $100 or best offer. The ipod is in excellent condition and comes with a clear hard shell case that is included in the price. If anyone is interested please leave me a comment and I'll get it back to you. I'm out in Raleigh Hills but willing to drop it off to you if you don't want to come out here.

studio, cheap housing?

Anyone have any idea where to look for a studio under $500? I'm in a situation where I need to move out by the end of this week. I know it's probably impossible, but I can't even seem to find any studios! Why are they so expensive?? Inner se, sw or beaverton areas are fine, but they seem to not exist. I've looked at craigslist, apt.com, rent.com etc...
