power point 2003

i've finished compiling a presentation for school, and have only just realized that regular music files cannot be used as background in a slideshow. does anyone know of a way to save my music as .wav files so i can use them here?
is there a tricky power point button that i'm missing entirely? i've used the program help and online help, as well as my google powers, but am not finding anything that doesn't require purchasing a program. i even took their little online help course to make sure i wasn't missing anything.

i know i'm showing the dumb here, so please be kind.
much thanks in advance

Hair salon recommendation

Barberama = best haircut of my life.

I was so happy I almost cried. The cut I wanted was a dramatic change and had a lot of potential to be executed in a very icky way (so much can go wrong with bangs!) Instead, I got exactly what I had hoped for and at a very reasonable price. I'd post pictures, but I am archaic and without a camera.

I am in no way affiliated with the company - I just wanted to pass along its awesomeness.

Edit: My cut was $32 (I had a *lot* of hair to work with) and the wonderful lady who did me the honor of taking scissors to my head was Megan (sweet as pie, that one!)

omg ICECREAM bling bling

Don't forget, tomorrow, April 17, from noon to 8pm, you can get a FREE ice cream cone at participating Ben and Jerry's Scoop Shops.

DISCLAIMERS, inspired by recent "Hey DP! Free Stuff!" posts in here:
  1. Ben and Jerry's is owned by a large and soulless corporation that burns rain forests, funds terrorist activities, and kills kittens and innocent children in third world countries.
  2. Ben and Jerry's will not deliver a free ice cream cone to your home or place of work.
  3. Ben and Jerry's will not give you the cash equivalent of a free ice cream cone, instead of a free ice cream cone.
  4. Ben and Jerry's products may contain dairy.

One more thing? I work in an office directly above the downtown B&J shop. When you're there, tomorrow, and you get near the front of the line, TEXT ME and gimme cuts so I don't have to wait three hours for some Chunky Monkey. ;)

30 people. Dead. Shot to death this morning in Virginia. The worst shooting rampage in U.S. history.

Jesus Christ.

Oh, and just so you know, Bush says it's ok for you to still have your guns. Don't worry.

A White House spokesman said President Bush was horrified by the rampage and offered his prayers to the victims and the people of Virginia.

"The president believes that there is a right for people to bear arms, but that all laws must be followed," spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

Looking for an artist/welder

The grille of my Toyota became unattached about a week ago. I found a garage that would pop a new one in for $0 of labor but apparently it's a $200 piece of plastic. I'm thinking that for $200, I could find a crafty DamnPortlander to weld some teeth in that space instead.

Anybody willing/able or know if someone who would be? Julep1162@yahoo.com.

Because you can't ever get enough curly fries...

Sure, Tim gets to tell you about ice cream, and all I've got are some fries. Oh well.

Apparently, Arby's offers free Curly Fries on Monday every time some yokel named Matt Kenseth wins a NASCAR race over the weekend. He won!

According to dealnews.com (The fastest way to go broke saving money!), all you need to do is print up this article from espn.com as "proof," and go get your damn fries.

You can tell them The Doc sent you. It won't do any good, but it will make me feel way more important than I actually am.

Enjoy. If you clog an artery, I'm not that kind of doctor.

Quilting Bees ~ Portland Oregon

Hi all. Thought I would throw this out for everyone. A Part of My Heart (501 (c3 pending) is sponsoring a series of quilting bees to prepare panels to be added to the display when it comes to the Ambridge Event Center Friday June 15 - Sunday June 17 2007. The quilting bee's are being held at MCC Church, 2400 NE Broadway from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. every Thursday. (Note: Come around to the side of the church not the front of the church. Go in the door right by the stairs and turn left.) You don't have to be artistic to come and help out. If you can cut, glue, stitch a little...you can do it. If you have wanted to make a panel for a friend or loved one, now is your chance. I started making a panel for my brother Mike and in the space of a few hours, the photo is on the main panel and I cut out a ton of little stuff to add to the panel. We have the supplies and the imagination to help you, but if you have extra scrap material, bring it and add it to the supplies. Volunteers are needed to complete several other panels that have been requested before the display gets here in June. If you need more information, please email me at kbr41@yahoo.com and put Quilting Bee's in the subject line and I can hook you up with people who can answer your questions.

Thanks for listening and happy quilting.

Informal Poll

Has the Trimet Bus Mall Relocation negatively affected your Trimet riding experience? Am I the only person who notices how much more jammed up downtown is during rush hour now, and how you can almost walk faster from PSU to Burnside than you get there riding a bus at around 5 pm? Apologies if this has already been addressed.

Jewelry Stolen - Vancouver

Just a head's up in case someone comes across some "bargain deal" or something on some sterling silver jewelry.

Was burglarized today, and they got away with all my funky fantasy jewelry. There's some really distinctive stuff in there, mostly sterling silver and semi-precious stones. One large sterling Native American slave bracelet, several dragon and bat rings, several "goddess" rings, a charm bracelet with all kinds of Pagan symbols, a garnet and filigree necklace with a matching bracelet (missing a garnet) and screw-in earrings, bunch of other earrings and random jewelry. Phi Beta Kappa pin and necklace. A really distinctive cat pin.

I'd actually like it all back. Monetarily it's not worth a whole lot, but it's extremely valuable to me in sentimental terms. I'm offering a reward for its recovery in whole or in part, no questions asked, don't care where it comes from or who had it or why. More things were stolen than just the jewelry, but all I'm looking for are the sentimental pieces.

Crossposted pretty much all over.

We are looking for a super nice beach vacation and would love some recommendations!  We're looking for a romantic weekend in a room/suite with a jacuzzi, balcony with ocean view, fireplace, king bed, and any other fanciness.  Somewhere queer-friendly would be preferred!  Thanks.
