The annual wearin' o' the Green

An Irishman and an American were sitting in the bar at Shannon Airport.

"I've come to meet my brother," said the Irishman. "He's due to fly in from
America in an hour's time. It's his first trip home in forty years".

"Will you be able to recognize him?" asked the American.

"I'm sure I won't," said the Irishman, "after all, he's been away for a long time".

"I wonder if he'll recognize you?" said the American.

"Of course he will," said the Irishman. "Sure, an' I haven't been away at all".

Hey, I said hi to you this morning on the MAX and you ignored me! ( I've seen you at the DP meetups before...but I'll be damned if I can remember your name.

You had red hair, and headphones on. You got on @ PGE and off @ Pioneer Square. You then proceeded to walk pretty fast down the street, before I could catch up and say hi! We've met before...who the hell are ya?'s just bugging me that I couldn't remember your name.

Hey Damnportlanders!

I'm moving out of my apt and have some stuff to sell.

I have a 17" color TV and a panasonic VCR. I'm not asking much but to get them off my hands. $30 for both? They are in excellent condition.

Opinions needed

I'm looking to purchase a digital SLR camera in the somewhat near future.

I used to have a Canon, but the asshole formerly known as my father stole it. It's been years and my two digital cameras have been doing very well for me, but I'm itching to get an SLR.

Anyone have any opinions on which one to get?

Does anyone have a recommendation of where to go to purchase one? I've thought of buying one online, but I think I'd feel more comfortable with buying one in person somewhere. That way, if there's something wrong with it when I open the box, I can just go back to that store. You know how it is.

I really don't have a price in mind. I know how much they run and I'm totally cool with paying big bucks for one. Anything to help me break into the porn industry LOL.

Thankful Thursdays, Portland style....

1. The welcome appearance of rain.

2. Walking around yesterday afternoon in a semi-windstorm, and watching the blossom petals swirl chaotically.

3. Experiencing paddling on the Willamette River for the very first time (thanks to the Portland Boat House's grand opening last weekend--the dragon boat paddling was fun!).

4. The Shamrock Ale Festival at the Pioneer Square--today through Saturday.

5. Witnessing an excellent Duran Duran show at the Rose Garden last Thursday night.

Black L shaped corner desk?

Hi all,

Does anybody know a place in Portland where i could by a basic black L shaped corner desk? I just need for it to have a flat top, no need for shelves or anything.

And of course the cheaper the better. I've been watching craigslist but so far nothing.

So, I finally joined this community. I moved to Portland in September, and the city has really started to grow on me.
Here is my question, (I did read the memories, however it the original post was over a year old) I'm looking for fun hikes within an hour or two of the city. My husband and I went out to Silver Falls last weekend and walked the trail of ten falls, and that was so much fun. Now I am looking for more suggestions. I spent some time in the hiking section at Barnes and Noble, and yet the books only tell you so much. Does anyone have favorites? Any to avoid?
Thank you! Renda

One more question completely unrelated to the last.

Does anyone know a good place to buy extreme hair color? I prefer Punky Colors, but a good selection of Manic Panic would be ok too. I was sent to this place Hot Box in Beaverton, and they didn't have the best selection. Sally's in Beaverton was sub-par as well.
So anyway, I don't like having to drive back to Seattle to pick up dye.
I appreciate help!

I have some jewelry that I'd like to sell. Including one, possibly two daimond pieces. I know that one is a diamond ring, but there's a bracelet that I'm just not sure if it's diamonds or just sparkley stuff.

So, does anyone know a good place to sell stuff like this where I'd acatually get a good price, and not someone just trying to rip me off?
Or a place that can tell me if it's diamonds or not?
