Hey there Portland!

Do you sneeze out of your mouths, or out of your noses? Inquiring minds want to know! Or at least my bored mind wants to know.

I got tired of nearly flying out of my chair when I sneezed, and one day I started re-directing sneezes through my nose instead. No, I'm not sure how I do it, but it seems to diminish the force of the sneeze considerably. So I consider it odd, but useful. So DP, how much of a freak does this make me? Am I alone?

I sneeze through my nose, but my boyfriend sneezes through his mouth. I never stopped to think of it before. :)

It really depends for me. Sometimes it's through my nose, but most of the time, my mouth. Whee!

I sneeze through the nose and for some reason a lot of people, especially the men in my family, think it is the oddest thing. They're all "Let it out! own that sneeze!"

And okay this is the part that may be weird but in addition to being less
messy and wet, this method gives me a bigger "sneeze high"

I have what are called "sneezures" (sneeze/seizure, however you might spell that); they're tiny ones through my nose that sound kind of like a cat sneeze, but I get up to 8 at a time.

I get something like 20-30 sneezes in a row, and they generally come out my mouth. They apparently sound like I'm choking or having a fit. I get many concerned looks, stares, and the occasional OMG ARE YOU CHOKING?

Mostly through my mouth. Especially when I get big sneezing attacks of 15-45 sneezes in a row depending on the severity of the attack. If I can tell it's going to be a small sneeze I will do it through the nose. If I misjudge the sneeze and do a big sneeze through the nose, I find it painful and sometimes the rush of air out my nostrils is so irritating that it makes me sneeze again, which I think I may not have done if I'd only sneezed through my mouth in the first place.

I always try to say something pithy when I sneeze. Try it! "Oh Shit!" and "Wazzzup?" are perennial favorites. And of course, the classic is, "Ah, choo!"
